Michael Baumgartner (born December 13, 1975) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 5th congressional district since 2025. Born in Pullman, Washington, he earned a B.A. from Washington State University and an M.P.A. from Harvard University. A Republican, Baumgartner worked as a consultant, served in the U.S. State Department (2007–2008), was a Washington state senator (2011–2019), and Spokane County treasurer (2019–2025). He was elected to the U.S. House in 2024.
