Ed Case (born September 27, 1952) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii’s 1st congressional district since 2019, with prior service from 2002 to 2007. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he earned a B.A. from Williams College and a J.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. A Democrat, Case worked as a lawyer, business executive, and served as a staff member for Representative and Senator Spark Matsunaga (1975–1978) and in the Hawaii state house (1994–2002) before his election to the U.S. House in a 2002 special election to replace Patsy Mink. He was reelected from 2003 to 2007, returned in 2019, and has been reelected to all succeeding Congresses.
