Background

Don Davis (born August 29, 1971) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for North Carolina’s 1st congressional district since 2023. Born in Snow Hill, North Carolina, he earned a B.S. from the United States Air Force Academy, an M.S. from Central Michigan University, an M.A. and Ed.D. from East Carolina University. A Democrat, Davis served in the U.S. Air Force (1994–2001), was a professor, lay minister, mayor of Snow Hill (2001–2008), and North Carolina state senator (2009–2011, 2013–2022) before his election to the U.S. House in 2022. He has been reelected to the succeeding Congress.
