Suzan K. DelBene (born February 17, 1962) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 1st congressional district since 2012. Born in Selma, Alabama, she earned a B.A. from Reed College and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington. A Democrat, DelBene was a business executive, Washington state revenue director (2010–2012), and an unsuccessful candidate for Congress in 2010 before her election to the U.S. House in a 2012 special election to replace Jay Inslee. She has been reelected to all succeeding Congresses and chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
