Sarah Elfreth (born September 9, 1988) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 3rd congressional district since 2025. Born in New Jersey, she earned a B.A. from Towson University and an M.S. from Johns Hopkins University. A Democrat, Elfreth was a staff member at Johns Hopkins (2010–2012), government affairs director at the National Aquarium (2012–2016), adjunct professor at Towson University (2019–2024), and Maryland state senator (2019–2025) before her election to the U.S. House in 2024. She began her term in the 119th Congress.
